Andaman: A Feathered Paradise - A Bird Watcher's Journey

The Andaman Islands, a jewel in the Bay of Bengal, had always been on my bucket list, not just for its pristine beaches, but for a more niche reason: its unique avian life. This past December, from the 17th to the 22nd, I finally embarked on a journey that promised a unique bird-watching experience, and it delivered in more ways than I could have imagined.

I'll be sharing some of my favorite snaps from the trip below!

📸 The Gear

To capture the stunning bird-life, I was equipped with my trusty gear:

  • Camera: Nikon D5300

  • Lens: Nikon 200-500mm

  • Binoculars: Bushnell 20x50mm

🐦 The Birding Experience

The weather was our constant companion, with clear skies and a gentle breeze making our expeditions an absolute pleasure. My primary mission was to spot the many endemic species of the islands, and I was not disappointed. The thrill of capturing a perfect shot of the magnificent birds I had only seen in books is a memory etched in my mind forever. Some of the endemic species I was lucky to spot include:

  • Andaman Woodpecker

  • Andaman Serpent-eagle

  • Andaman Teal

  • Andaman Crake

🏝️ The Journey

While the stay was comfortable and the logistics well-managed, the culinary journey was a bit of a challenge. Finding a good restaurant with varied food options proved to be a daily struggle. However, what truly made this trip unforgettable was the camaraderie.

I started this journey with a group of complete strangers, all united by our love for birding. Over five days of shared sunrises, patient waits for a fleeting glimpse of a rare bird, and evening discussions, we transformed from a group of individuals into a close-knit family. We weren't just sharing sightings; we were sharing stories, laughter, and a passion that connected us deeply.

Key Takeaways

This trip was a profound learning experience, and I came back with more than just photos.

  • Improved Photography Skills: I honed my skills in capturing fast-moving birds in their natural habitat.

  • The Art of Patience: I learned the true meaning of patience and the joy of silent observation, which is the essence of bird watching.

  • New Friendships: What started as a trip with strangers ended with a bond that felt like family.

It was a journey of discovery, not just of rare birds, but of new friendships and a deeper connection with nature.

Angry - The magic Fruit

Many times I'm so confused about how I get angry? Which makes me anger.
This is really easy question! Is it so?

Actually, the answer is NO. Because Angry is not only the angry all the time but also it may be in a form of other feeling! Like,
  • Possessiveness - Never want to loose a loved one.
  • Complexity thoughts - Think ourself very good or as very bad in level.
  • Jealousy - A Monkey put an eye on the Banana that is in the hand of another monkey!
  • Expectation - I want the thing that no one got yet!
Many of my friends feel like, they are bad because they are getting anger often. But, in our life nothing is correct nor nothing is wrong! According to me, angry is also a good part of feeling like happy, victory, etc.Because it helps you in the below ways some times.
  • Get out of stress
  • It helps to understand others
  • More love = More angry :)
  • Helps us to avoid mental disturb
So next time, when you are angry.. Just think and think over about the cause and result of your anger.
If you feel its bad, please teach your mind its bad!

Our mind is like a baby boy :) Always listen when you say in a good manner.

Have a Happy Life!

Where is our Happiness?

In our regular life, We are facing lots of different moments. Not always they looks happiest one.Sometimes they are the moments that make us to feel hard to digest or make us to get angry etc.

I promise, we all accept this fact!

This is called Life :) If these changes not exist, then there is no interest. But we can go ahead with finding the ways that make us to feel happy.

So, here a simple story which helps you lot in resolving this issue!

Once a group of 50 people was attending a seminar. Suddenly the speaker stopped and request them to do a group activity. He started giving each one a balloon. Each one was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes. Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others and there was a little fight too.

At the end of 5 minutes no one could find their own balloon.

Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker began— "exactly this is happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness; you will get your own happiness. And this is the purpose of human life...the pursuit of happiness!!"

So, Give happiness to others and be yourself happy in remaining time :)
